Daniel Elsegood

Having performed and participated in acting workshops since the age of eight, Daniel studied Drama for the full five years at Sacred Heart College. During this time he further developed his performance talents through study and roles in school productions for Sacred Heart and Iona Presentation College where he featured in two shows at the Regal Theatre. Daniel was accepted into the Bachelor of Performing Arts (Performance Making) course at WAAPA in 2014 where he studied for one year. Tutored and coordinated by Frances Barbe and Tamara Cook, the course targeted the development of collaborative and creative theatre skills, particularly in the field of performance art. There Daniel learnt traditional vocal and movement techniques including Suzuki and Tai – Chi training. After taking a year off from studies, Daniel was then accepted by director Amanda Crewes into the GAP program at The Actors Hub where he graduated as part of the GAP 1 Class of 2016. The intensive training course focused on providing students with the tools to create their own unique acting process and introduced them to a range of performance styles from industry professionals such as Simon Stokes (screen acting coach), Donald Woodburn (WAAPA Head of Voice) and Greg Marston (professional voice over). Daniel enjoys living an active lifestyle having played cricket and tennis for most of his life, as well as having a passion for music which lead him to playing saxophone and piano in high school. He currently works for Yelo Kitchen in Mt Hawthorn where he works long hours baking and preparing food for the popular Yelo Café stores. With his diverse history of theatre training and love of film and television behind him, Daniel strives to utilise his collaborative and creative skill set to bring a level of professionalism to an industry he hopes to succeed in.
