Brendan Merdzan is an Australian actor and presenter born in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia and currently residing in Perth. He started modelling at 18 with Scene Model Management. For five years he worked at The Department of Corrective Services in WA as the Ministerial Liaison Officer for Parliament and Recruitment Officer, which enabled him to develop his presenting skills, helping to train new social workers. In 2011 he appeared in short films directed by ECU film students and Daniel Monks. In Early 2012 Brendan moved to Sydney to study acting and gain on set experience in local productions. In Sydney Brendan underwent extensive study at various institutions including NIDA, The Actors Pulse, Screenwise, The Hub Studio, the Sydney Actor's Group and TAFTA. Brendan appeared as an extra in the Warner Bros films The Great Gatsby, Pacific Rim, Adoration and Mad Max: Fury Road, and in the television series Home and Away, Packed to The Rafters, Rake, Underbelly Badness, A Place to Call Home, Love Child and Janet King. In 2013 Brendan appeared in music videos for Reece Mastin and Mrs Bishop and modelled for American Crew. He worked in production for Home and Away's 2014 season and also worked in production for season 3 of The Bachelor in 2015, gaining valuable behind the scenes knowledge. In 2015 Brendan returned home from Sydney and spent two months studying The Meisner Technique at James Franco’s Studio 4 acting school in New York City. Brendan is a well rounded actor who has a wealth of experience for his age. Since 2015 Brendan has been a regular presenter on Foxtel's The Couch, which airs on their community TV channel Aurora. He will star in the 6 part web series Troll Hunters, premiering at various short film festivals through-out 2017.
