Melody Rom is an engaging, bright and enthusiastic actor who brings maturity beyond her years to her career and life. Having worked as an actor/model from the age of seven and growing up in a musical family, Melody is comfortable and confident in front of the camera, on set or stage and takes direction in her stride. Praised for her uncanny ability to learn and retain scripts with ease Melody is often asked to help mentor younger actors. She has had several lead roles in a number of short films but lists being cast as a featured extra in Paper Planes, playing a challenging feature role in the award winning short film Absolution (2014) and more recently a love interest in Barcode as some of the highlights. Her first television casting was to take on the role of Raelene May Eaton who was abducted along with her cousin more than 40 years ago. A competition International Elite Cheer & Dance athlete, Melody along with her team has won numerous awards including Open Jazz National Champions (2016) and WA State Jazz and Lyrical Champions (2016). Melody attends John Curtin College of the Arts (Perth) Gifted and Talented Drama Program and their invitation only Academic Excellence Program. As a testament to her character and despite her hectic schedule, Melody continues to excel academically. Melody holds Australian and Canadian passports and is currently working on her Tagalog accent with the help of her Filipino father to be ready for opportunities whether in Australia or abroad.
