Lauren May

Lauren May is a seventeen year old singer, actor and musician from Perth in Western Australia. She has enjoyed many successes in her performances in both singing and acting, both at her school and with her choir group, Australian Girls Choir (AGC) who are also the Qantas Choir at national events. She has received awards at her junior and senior levels at the choir with a wide reach of talents – from alto to soprano levels.

Lauren has also been the recipient of many scholarships in both music and acting – her music and original songs penned by her for the publishing company Fusion Music Publishing and with the company Indasoul in the USA where she will be creating new songs including a film clip to go with one of the selected songs. Most recently she recorded a new song titled Ïsolated” that will be appearing on Fusion Music Publishings best new talents of 2018 CD at the end of the year which will be marketed nationally. On the Now Actors website and Casting Networks site there are clips of some of her songs that she has sung over the past year. She was also selected to be in the specialised Bel Canto group at AGC for the top singers with the choir.

Lauren also performs drama at an ATAR level – she became committed to drama after being selected for a scholarship at Barking Gecko drama academy in Subiaco in Perth. She now has had acting and singing roles with the AGC, including a solo part in their annual event as the ringmaster in The Greatest Showman. With the choir, she also performed as a backing singer on Hugh Jackman’s Boy From Oz tour in 2015, which has given her a passion to appear on the stage and screen. She has a showreel on this site and on Casting Networks site demonstrating her talents on screen.

She also studies dance at an ATAR level, broadening her range of dance from classical, to hip hop and other dancing movements. She performs at three performances per year at UWA with other schools. She has proved her dancing talents after being selected to being in the specialised group Ballare for the AGC. Ballare is a combination of top level dancers at showcases throughout the year.
