Myriam was born in Alexandria, Egypt, to a cosmopolitan family of French-Italian, Maltese and Jewish origin. Her first language was French, then secondly, at three years of age Malay and then English. She spent her early childhood in South-East Asia, specifically Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Singapore. Arriving in Australia at the age of twelve, by which time she was speaking English, French and Malay fluently and some Arabic remembered from her infancy in Egypt. Myriam felt that her background gave her good exposure to different cultures and ways of relating to other people. This in turn led Myriam towards acting and performance as a career and passion.
