Xavier O'ShannessyXavier is an actor, producer and publicist based in Melbourne. He works extensively with Gold Satino, a collective of theatre makers exploring the absurd, beautiful and unnerving possibilities of site specific work. He has been performing, producing, devising and risking arrest with with the company since 2012. Gold Satino won Best Performance and the Artworks Live Art Award for Dion at the 2016 Melbourne Fringe Festival and the Arts House Evolution Award for Suburbia at the 2015 Melbourne Fringe. Xavier has also appeared in short films, various TV shows and many plays. Some highlights include Erik in Love (dir Adena Jacobs), Birte in Kissing and Fucking Up, Janek in I Wish You a Boat (Philadelphia, PA) and Out of the Shadows, a verbatim piece retelling the stories of Tamil survivors of the Sri Lankan civil war. He is a graduate of 16th Street Actors Studios where he trained with, among many others, Elizabeth Kemp (Asc. Artistic Director, Actors Studio NYC), Carl Ford (Susan Batson Studio, NYC), Kim Farrant (dir Strangerland) and Kim Krejus.rnrnPrior to 16th Street, Xavier trained in the Meisner technique in Melbourne followed by a six month residency in Philadelphia, PA with an international ensemble undertaking advanced training while creating and performing original works. Xavier has worked in a dog circus, sold electricity door to door and can crack a stockwhip. He is a 200 hour certified yoga teacher and is currently undertaking post graduate teacher training. In his spare time Xavier is studying a BA (Writing and Psychology), launching a fashion startup and listing things in threes because he finds that number relaxing.
