I actually decided a long time ago to become an actor. When I was younger I was on stage performing poetry. My mum had just given birth to my sister, she was sick and in hospital. Whilst I was at the performance a friend of the family who lived in the refugee camp with us (Kakuma, Kenya) told me that my baby sister had passed away. I was filled with emotion but I felt that there was little I could do, she had passed, my mother would be grieving. I took all the emotion and finished my performance. I felt great emotion in my performance, I saw the reaction I provoked, it meant something to those watching. I felt some sort of blessing. My little sister had passed but she had life, as short as it was. That realization was in my performance and still is in my performances to this day.
