Originally from Perth, Stephen spent the last eight years as a Singapore based actor. While still in Perth Stephen performed and worked with some of Perth’s major theatre companies across a variety of different theatre styles. Most notable was his award winning performance as Ariel in Shakespeare’s The Tempest (2004) and his appearance as ‘Puck’ and ‘Tom Bathurst’ in His Majesty Theatre’s Cavalcade (2004) celebrating the centenary of ‘The Maj.’ In Singapore he completed his BA Acting (HONS) at Lasalle College of the Arts. Was awarded the ‘Best Actor Award’ at the Singapore Short and Sweet Festival for his role in Somewhere between the Sky and the See (2008). And appeared in a guest role in the popular TV series Police and Thief (2007) as Texan police officer ‘Sgt Ryan.’ From 2009-2011 he appeared as Charlie Chaplin at Universal Studios Singapore. Last year after nine months of extensive travel he went to Vancouver, where he participated in Canada’s National Voice Intensive. He then returned to Singapore to perform in Singapore Reperatory Theatre, The Little Company’s productions of The Cat in the Hat and Fantastic Mr Fox. Most recently he appeared as ‘Cassio’ in SRT’s Shakespeare in the Park production of ‘Othello.’ Stephen is back in Perth for a while before he gallivants off again to Washington DC next year, to study for his Masters in Shakespeare.
